Biography

Colleen Currie is a lawyer, mediator and trainer. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa, where she teaches Alternate Dispute Resolution. Colleen also trains lawyers and mental health professionals in the collaborative method throughout Ontario. Her collaborative training can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your practice group, whether a refresher on skills or both comprehensive levels of collaborative practice training, including tools for establishing your practice group.

In addition to her law degree (graduated cum laude), Colleen has a Masters degree in Conflict Resolution. She has been a member of the Ottawa-based Collaborative Law Network and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals since 2004. Colleen has been mediating for ten years, is an Accredited Mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM), and is qualified on the roster of court mediators. Colleen has appeared on radio, television and in print as an expert in conflict resolution and family matters.

Prior to her legal calling, Colleen had a professional career in both the public and private sectors, where she provided training locally and internationally in negotiation, strategic planning and contract management.
